MisBroccoliCommunication

So my husband and I have been married for about 6 months, and he still can't read my mind yet. REALLY?!

STORY

It's Sunday afternoon and I had my eye on this (seemingly) yummy broccoli cheese soup recipe (we didn't fast like we should have… oops). So the night before I bought all the ingredients and I got to work on the soup right after church. While the broccoli was tenderizing (yeah, I just said that), I decided to do the laundry also.

We only do laundry once a week. When I say "we" I mean "I". I had at least 3 loads to do, so I was upstairs doing laundry for 20+ minutes.

While I'm doing laundry, the timer went off to stir the soup. My husband was on the couch playing games on his laptop. He gets up and turns off the timer and DOESN'T STIR THE SOUP!!! So, when I come back 20 minutes later, I open the door to a SMOKE FILLED KITCHEN.

My husband jumps off the couch and immediately starts opening up doors and windows because he knowwwwws that he is in trouble. I drop the laundry, run to the pot and the bottom of the soup is completely black. (!!!!!!)

Anyway we tried to salvage the soup, it tasted terrible with an aftertaste of burn. My husband and I both got sick from it.

Oh, and it completely ruined my pot.

Husband, learn to read my mind and stir the soup when the timer goes off.
