Setting Spray

What is a setting spray? Hairspray for your face! I'm not completely sold on it yet, but so far it's working well, I've been using it for about a week now. I wear glasses every day so by the end of the day, the makeup around my nose (where the glasses rest) has substantially shifted. Although with my facial primer and setting spray, it stays in place much better. With just either one though it doesn't work as well.

This is what I've been trying from Sephora...

Urban Decay Oil-control Setting Spray

(because I have an oily face)

This finishing spray works well even when I don't wear glasses! I am currently sitting on the fence about it. Not quite sure if I want to commit and spend lots of money on it quite yet. Although Urban Decay is having a sale…

What do you guys think?

Face Primer

Hi lovelies!

A face primer helps makeup stay in place and it also helps it go on more smooth. It's a celeb well hidden secret!

I have been looking into face primers for awhile now, and I finally pulled the trigger and went to Sephora.

Aka the best store ever.

I could spend fooooorever in there. (I recently just went with my sis-in-law and she practically had to drag me out of there)… Anyway so I've been using Too Faced Face Primer in Pure.

I absolutely LOVE it. I put it on after I moisturize in the morning and it helps my makeup go on easy and smooth (it goes on clear). I let it sit for about 5 minutes (while I do my hair or eat breakfast) and then start with makeup. It's currently midnight and my makeup is lookin' the exact same as when I applied it this morning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! :) You can't find it here.

PLUS it's oil-free so it doesn't add to my ever-oily face.

Hope you like! Head to Sephora and ask for a sample! :)

Professional Makeup on a Poor Woman's Budget: Lipstick

Professional Makeup on a Poor Woman's Budget: Lipstick

From beginners to experts...

TIP: If you've never been into lipstick before, take a test drive by wearing tinted lip gloss or chap stick.

How-To Lipstick

STEP 1: Pick a lipstick shade that matches your natural lip color, feel free to experiment with lighter or darker colors as well.

STEP 2: Application. First prime your lips with a lip primer. (Walgreens: here. Sephora: here).

STEP 3: This next step is optional: then line your lips with lip liner to help the color stay in place.

STEP 4: Lastly, swipe with lipstick of choice.

For long lasting (all day) color, put white powder on top of lipstick and then apply another layer.

¡VIOLA!

Remember to wear with CONFIDENCE, even if you are apprehensive about it!

These are some of my personal favorites!

How To Properly Wash Your Makeup Brushes

Hiiiiii!

So if you're like me, you get completely random, unwanted, where-the-heck-did-you-come-from zits. Can you remember the last time you washed your makeup brushes? I promise it helps with those pesky breakouts! I wash my brushes every 2 weeks to a month. It seriously takes less than 5 minutes to do! Here's a quick tutorial for pointers on how to clean them without ruining them :)
